EXIDE TECHNOLOGIES

Exide Technologies (now known as Stryten Manufacturing) was a leading global manufacturer of lead-acid and lithium batteries for transportation, industrial, and network power applications. As in-house visual designer at Exide, I completed a wide variety of projects, including: trade show identity systems, sell sheets, logos, web banners, product labels, customer-specific pieces for the sales team, and many more. I had the unique opportunity to work for two brands (Exide plus GNB Industrial Power, its motive and network power label), doing work for external B2B and B2C customers and internal customers (human resources, corporate communications, and others.)

TRADE SHOWS

Trade shows are one of the most exciting and satisfying aspects of this role. I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of spaces, with sizes ranging from tabletop to 40x50’ booths.

ProMat is the largest material handling event in the United States. Thousands of industry professionals exhibit and walk the show. In 2019, Exide Technologies exhibited their newest innovations in a 40’x50’ space.

Overhead View

I created a clean and bright look for Exide’s space. The challenge was to allow the massive area to feel neither bare nor overwhelming.

Tower

I created graphics and wrote taglines for four twenty-foot backlit towers, each featuring a different product or service. I also copy-edited and helped create content for other info panels.

Family Shot

An oversized shot of the Exide product line was perfect to fill sixteen feet of the forty-foot back wall space.

I designed booth graphics using a variety of photos, stock images, and renderings, working with an exhibit design partner to bring my ideas to life.

MARKETING COLLATERAL

As an in-house designer, I’ve had the special privilege of having a hand in many different projects. The many opportunities to work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, sales team members, and senior management have only added to my growth as a designer and a collaborator. Working within strict brand guidelines has also become one of my greatest strengths over the last few years.

GREAT ESCAPES

Great Escapes is an incentive program to reward GNB’s top customers in North America. Every year, there is a luxurious vacation for around 300 customers, salespeople, and executives. Great Escapes 2020 took place at the Four Seasons in Maui. I assisted GNB’s travel agency with logos and collateral, and put together information sheets in English and French for the sales promotions GNB offers throughout the year. Additionally, I took several of the images utilized on the Great Escapes promo sheets.

BRANDING

GNB manufactures a variety of batteries and chargers for industrial use. I was responsible for creating new logos and labels for each new product launch, or refreshing existing branding for relaunches.
